Accademia dei Giusprivatisti Europei

The Academy of European Lawyers was founded by public act in Pavia on November 9, 1992. These were its founding members: Prof. Alberto Trabucchi (University of Padua),Prof. Franz Wieacker (University of Göttingen), Prof. André Tunc (University of Paris 'Sorbonne-Panthéon'), Prof. José Luis de los Mozos (University of Valladolid), H.E. Prof. Antonio Brancaccio (First President of the Italian Court of Cassation). As is made clear in Article 1 of its Statute, the Academy “aims to make a contribution, through scientific research, to the unification and future interpretation and application of private law in Europe, in the spirit of the Community Conventions,” and also “to promote the development of European legal culture.” 

 

The Academy has its official headquarters in Pavia, in the central building of the University, at the Department of Political and Social Sciences: Strada Nuova 65, I - 27100 Pavia (Italy).
