Department of Political and Social Sciences

On the occasion of its centenary, the Department of Political Science at the University of Pavia celebrates a century of academic commitment and innovation. Through a series of special events, this extraordinary milestone will be honoured, reliving the stories and testimonies that have marked the department's journey.

The election of the Department Director for the three-year period 2024-2027 is scheduled for 9 April.

On 14 May, from 10.00 to 16.00, at the courtyards of the University headquarters, there will be stands from more than 120 companies interested in students and graduates.

The Department of Political and Social Sciences , which was previously known as the Faculty of Political Sciences and founded in 1926. It is a multidisciplinary scientific community where you can find areas of study connected to political science, political philosphy, economics, statistical sciences, a wide and complete range of historical sciences as well as studies in International relations, juridical sciences, sociology, institutional and market communication science.

The Department of Political and Social Sciences can be found in the main building of the University of Pavia, which is the historical seat of the University. The classrooms can be found around two cloistered courtyards: the Cortile dei Tassi and the Cortile Sforzesco, as well as in the Cortile Ovest (in the appendix you can find a map of the courtyards and the classrooms ).
